Benchmarking and performance improvement - We have a proven and internationally renowned benchmarking system that determines the levels of use of best practice in a shipyard’s key processes and practices. It then compares them in a global context. The findings are used to formulate targeted action plans for improvement. In addition to assisting over 150 shipyards, the system has also been used in major studies on behalf of Government departments in Australia, Canada the US and UK as well as the European Commission.
Shipyard process planning - To achieve best performance, we optimise both a shipyard’s ‘soft’ pre-production and ‘hard’ production processes for its product mix, throughput and cost base.
Skills assessment and development - We help our clients to ensure an appropriate level of skills and knowledge to maximise shipyard performance. We support all aspects from aligning training to the requirements of a business or industry to providing direct training in shipyard processes and practices to shipyard employees.
Cost estimating and cost structure analysis - In addition to standard cost estimating, we have developed techniques to improve the reliability of cost estimating in new shipyards in which productivity is difficult to predict. Analysis of the structure of ship cost reveals the potential for performance improvement and provides focus to any improvement action plan.
