Royal HaskoningDHV marked the opening of its new offices in Cornerblock, one of the most eye-catching buildings in the Colmore Business District in Birmingham. On Wednesday 26 April, launch celebrations took place with employees joined by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Maureen Cornish JP accompanied by Lord Mayor's Consort, Malcolm Cornish and Professor Martin Freer, Director of the Birmingham Energy Institute and Energy Research Accelerator at Birmingham University, clients and suppliers.

The office move brings together Royal HaskoningDHV’s Birmingham-based team with colleagues from two acquired companies - digital experts Twinn (previously known as Lanner) and sustainable transport planners ITP. Bringing the teams together will create an expertise hub capable of supporting and delivering UK and global projects in the industry & building, transport planning and digital sectors.

Launch celebrations saw guests taking in the view from the city’s largest private roof terrace. Welcoming guests to the reception, UK Resident Director, Jonathan Bull said: “We’ve had teams based in Birmingham for over 10 years, so we are already familiar with the energy and buzz around the city. This move consolidates our position in the city and brings colleagues together in this incredible space.”

Supporting collaboration, sharing knowledge and resources will help us continue to deliver ground-breaking projects, both in the city and around the world.

Jonathan Bull continues: “The new office was also chosen because the space and location align with our net-zero commitments. Besides reducing our CO2 footprint by bringing offices together, our office has motion activated LED lighting, and we implemented energy monitoring to track progress. The office has great transport links and our own architects and designers have done a superb job creating an interior that supports our flexible way of working while reusing some existing furniture and IT equipment.”
