Water touches everything. Together we are faced with the challenge of giving a concrete shape to safety, sustainability and a ground breaking use of water. Together with our customers (mainly municipalities, water boards, the government, social organizations and private companies), we develop solutions for sufficient and clean water and combating flooding. We do this by, among other things, using data smartly and effectively using information flows and models. To get this done, we are looking for several advisers/specialists urban water management (0.8-1fte). Come Enhance Society Together!

Wat you will do as Specialist / Advisor Urban Water Management

As a substantive expert and consultant, you are working with your team for the majority of your time to make the world a little better. You are going to make plans for new areas, test and optimize existing water systems using model calculations and you advise on measures for a climate -proof design.

The projects you participate in, for example, sewerage plans, climate stress tests, rainwater structure, and linking plans, water tests and multi-year investment plans for the sewer system. Sometimes you also use your professional knowledge to give very practical advice. Consider, for example, solving flooding problems on a plot in close consultation with the owner and the municipality or answering the question of whether a piece of sewerage can still be replaced at the same time as refurbishing an intersection.

Advisory projects in urban water are becoming increasingly integrated and more complex. In that complex environment, you will convert the customer demand into the right technical issue. It is often necessary to use hydrodynamic calculation software to work out this technical issue. If you already have experience with performing hydraulic calculations, you will increase that knowledge with us. If you have no experience yet: no problem, you learn it with us! In your daily work, you will also keep a lot of contact with your colleague project team members and our customers. By using GIS and data management and scripting in one or different programming languages, you arrive to good solutions to the problems of customers.

In addition:

  • You are going to set up, calibrate, and validate integral models.
  • You contribute to projects and quotations and you coordinate independently with clients.
  • You are going to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • You actively contribute to the further development and development of the urban water management field.

Depending on your place of residence, you mainly work from our Rotterdam offices (from 2024 Delft), Amsterdam, Goes, Eindhoven, Nijmegen, Zwolle or Amersfoort.
