What will you do

Our climate is changing, from increasing temperatures and shifting precipitation patterns, to rising sea levels and more frequent and severe weather events. Alongside this, the global economy is embarking on a low carbon transition. At Royal HaskoningDHV, we help governments, businesses, and communities plan for, and adapt to these changes. We also support clients to navigate the uncertainties of a low-carbon transition, identifying climate-related risks, and developing strategies to build resilience to emerging shocks and stresses.

The successful candidate will support the growing team within Southeast Asia with a focus on developing resilience and climate adaptation strategies and undertaking climate change risk assessments for businesses, governments, and communities.

Your key responsibilities, with support from your team, may include the following:

  • Analyse climate change and other environmental data
  • Prepare and support workshop and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Support senior staff members in preparing climate and disaster resilience action plans and undertake climate and disaster risk assessments
  • Provide background research and report writing support
  • Contribute to project proposals and business development
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports, proposals and other documentation under supervision.

What you bring

Requirements:

  • Degree in at least one of urban sustainability, environmental, climate change or other urban planning/development/engineering fields
  • Up to 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Good understanding of climate change and resilience challenges and opportunities in Vietnam
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Confident to communicate in English (verbal and written)
  • Strategic thinker
  • Willingness to travel

Preferably:

 

  • Experience of using climate change projections and impact models
  • Experience with resilience/climate adaptation strategies
  • Experience of TCFD, Net Zero, Green buildings, sustainability reporting
  • Strong quantitative/data analytics skills
